The Christie announces star studded line up for annual charity ball

Press release posted 15 January 2015

The Christie will be hosting its annual, spectacular charity ball on 7th March 2015 at the stunning Manchester Cathedral.

A fantastic line up has been confirmed with show stopping performances from legendary American R&B and dance music sensation Jocelyn Brown, and Britain's Got Talent winners and No 1 selling musical theatre group Collabro.

A delicious four course meal has been designed by award winning Michelin starred chef, Jean Christophe-Novelli, and renowned XFM presenter Gareth Brooks, who has been treated at The Christie, will be DJing at the event.

And the evening will be hosted by BBC Breakfast TV presenter Bill Turnbull, a supporter of The Christie charity.

Supported by Simplyhealth, all proceeds from the event will go towards a research room in The Christie's new Proton Beam Therapy Centre which is due to open in 2018.

The Christie will be one of the first cancer centres in the UK to offer high energy proton beam therapy ensuring that desperately ill children with cancer receive the very latest and safest form of radiation therapy.

The funds raised through the ball will help The Christie find the answers to make research breakthroughs which could make proton beam treatment the most effective for cancer yet.

As well as being a glamorous way to support The Christie, guests will also have the opportunity to take part in an auction to win amazing money-can't-buy experiences and exclusive prizes donated by supporters of the charity.

Due to popular demand, the majority of tickets for the ball have already sold out. With just four tables remaining, guests will have to book soon to secure a place.

Stephen Anderson, campaigns and events manager at The Christie charity, said: "The ball is a wonderful way to support The Christie and have a fantastic night out. This year we have an exceptional line up and quite a few surprises for our guests on the night. It really is a night not to be missed."

Make sure you don't miss out on the night of a lifetime and visit book tickets and find out more.

The Christie charity has over 30,000 supporters and raised a record breaking £14.8m last year to fund projects for the Trust that would not be affordable under the NHS.
