The Christie charity is generously supported by a number of incredible fundraising groups who go above and beyond in their activities to raise awareness and funds for the charity.
Fundraising groups can be a collection of friends, family or a community, all coming together to fundraise for a common cause, having plenty of fun along the way.
Our Community Team are here to help fundraising groups with their events from providing useful hints and tips to loaning materials such as collection buckets and presentation cheques.
If you are interested in joining one of our existing groups or would be interested in registering as a new group, please get in touch.

The Wonderful Wibbersley & Thorne Society
This tongue-twisting team of enthusiastic fundraisers, who have been loyal supporters of The Christie charity since 1992, continue to go from strength to strength under the leadership of Derek Wilkinson. This past year they have raised an incredible £25,000!
From their annual New Year’s Day fancy dress cricket match, Big Night Out, quiz nights and Wibbstock music festival to Halloween and Christmas parties and bag packs, there really isn’t a month which goes by when they aren’t fundraising in some sort of way.
Derek Wilkinson, leader of the group, says that the group’s motto is “We’re serious about having fun and if you went to one of our ‘Buzzing Bunnies’ nights you’d see this first hand.”
Their latest contribution to The Christie will be used to fund a clinical trial, led by Research Manager, Alison Walker. Alison recently attended their annual presentation night and outlined how the Molecular Profiling Trial will benefit an extra 50 patients a year.
We would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to our wonderful Wibbersley and Thorne Society and of course to all of their fantastic supporters over the years.
