£13,000 well grafted for The Christie

The Christie Grafters Fundraising group based in Rishton, Blackburn have raised a further £13,000 for the specialist cancer centre The Christie in Manchester.
The Grafters have been raising money for The Christie for many years and over the past 12 months have organised a whole host of activities, from bucket collections to bag packs at supermarkets, to raise even more funds.
Members of the group recently handed over a cheque to community fundraising officer at the Christie charity Jacky Plant who said; “Despite the recession and everyone having to tighten their belts, this fundraising group really continue to go from strength to strength.
“I’m extremely proud of all their hard work. Their dedication is outstanding and makes such a huge difference.”
