Corrie heartthrob swoons blushing brides for Christie charity
Coronation Street's Ryan Thomas swarmed by Christie brides for charity.
Corrie heartthrob Ryan Thomas found himself on the receiving end of more than one proposal today after being surrounded by a swarm of blushing brides.
The Manchester born star, who plays builder Jason Grimshaw in the soap, paid a special visit to The Christie as part of the first ever ‘Christie’s Week’, which ends tomorrow, Saturday 17th October. Throughout the week the Christie charity invited people across the North West to take part and help raise money to fund cancer research and vital services for patients.
Ryan, who has worked as a volunteer at the leading cancer centre in the past, took a break from his busy filming schedule to greet the Christie staff who had dug out their wedding gowns to wear for the day and raise more money for the cause.
Christie’s Week culminates tomorrow with the biggest simultaneous bucket collection The Christie has ever held. Fundraisers will be hitting the streets in 17 towns and cities across the North West, including Ashton, Stockport, Oldham and Salford, to raise money for the charity. More than 100 students in fancy dress will also be collecting in Manchester city centre, at Manchester Airport and at Manchester United’s home game against Bolton at Old Trafford.
