A Deliciously decadent day for The Christie
The Lady Captain of Mere Golf Club in Knutsford is hosting a ‘Deliciously Decadent Day’ of fundraising for The Christie on Monday September 29th.
Lorraine Rathbone will be joined by well known chef Nigel Haworth for an exciting cookery demonstration. The Michelin-starred chef of the famous Northcote Manor in Clitheroe was a finalist in the BBC’s recent Great British Menu competition.
Lorraine has nominated The Christie as her charity during her year in office and will be hosting a series of events to raise money for a new £35 million patient treatment centre at the hospital. The new building, set to open in 2010, will transform cancer care at The Christie and will include the largest early clinical trials unit in the world where the latest cancer treatments will be pioneered. A large proportion of the new building is being paid for through The Christie’s charity.
Tickets for the event including a champagne reception and lunch, cost £40. During the day there will also be a demonstration from well-known chocolatier Simon Dunn, as well as a raffle and silent auction with lots of fabulous prizes.
For more information and to book tickets, contact Lorraine on 07788 585998 or Carol on 01565 830428.
