Golfers roll out their Chip Shot for The Christie
Left to right: Terry Fletcher; golf club members Joe Turner, Eddie Barton, Alan Hill and Clive Toppin and Christie fundraising officer Howard Newhall.
Over the past nine months Terry Fletcher from Newton in Hyde has been organising a weekly raffle at the Dukinfield Golf Club to raise money for The Christie.
But on the 25th September he really raised the bar by holding an auction and golf competition for the senior section of the club bringing his fundraising total to a fantastic £2,020.
Terry’s been inspired to help The Christie over the past years as his wife suffered with breast cancer twelve years ago but thankfully survived.
Terry said; “To raise so much money was brilliant. I’m so thankful for everyone who took part and for all their generosity. Hopefully it’s something we’ll carry on doing in the future.”
Terry and the senior section of the golf club recently handed over their donation to The Christie.
