The AMET (Association of Electrical Contractors) held their annual Christmas lunch at the Palace Hotel in Manchester in December and raised a wonderful £9,700 for The Christie.
AMET, a consortium of electrical suppliers set up to trade ideas and organise networking opportunities, have supported the specialist cancer centre at the annual bash since its inception in 2005, raising in total a phenomenal £26,730.
The event is organised by AMET secretary Margaret Coleman of CU Phosco Lighting and AMET chairman Kevin Heap along with AMET representatives Steven Fletcher and Karen Pittpladdy
Margaret said: “My father has been a patient, as have a number of friends, so I've seen first hand the importance of the work that is carried out at The Christie. We were really pleased with how successful the lunch was, and it was particularly nice that people who are business competitors all year round can come together to celebrate just for one day a year and raise money at the same time.
