Staff at Cobra UK & Ireland Insurance in Altrincham have been swinging into action once again for The Christie, raising nearly £83,000.
After recently raising over £10,000 from their annual golf event, they are now just £13,000 short of their £100,000 target – which they’re hopeful of hitting in the next 12 months. All the money raised will go towards the new £35 million patient treatment centre on which building work is due to start in the New Year. It will provide The Christie with the world’s largest early clinical trials unit where the latest cancer treatments will be pioneered.
Cobra UK & Ireland is especially keen to raise funds for The Christie due to the fact that director Jim Wrynne lost his nephew Christopher Corridan three years ago to leukaemia at the age of 26.
Cobra UK & Ireland director Kevin McNeill said "UK & Ireland are delighted to have reached this tremendous amount, and are very focused and committed to reach our target of £100,000 as soon as possible. We would like to thank all our clients, sponsors and everyone who has contributed to our appeal for their fantastic support. We look forward to hopefully raising more much needed funds for The Christie next year.”
Corporate partnerships officer at The Christie, Emma Kennedy, said: “The team at Cobra UK & Ireland has been amongst our most loyal and hard working supporters over the last few years and we’re thrilled they the golf days continue to be so successful. We’re incredibly grateful for everything they do.”
