It might look like they're just playing a round, but members of the MUGS (Middleton Unit Golf Society) are serious fundraisers.
Their Annual Golf Day once again scored highly for The Christie, where staff were delighted to receive a cheque for £5,328 raised at the event. That donation is also set to be doubled by National Grid.
The idea for the charity golf day came originally from Richard Dobrowolski after his son Paul received life-saving treatment at The Christie.
Happily Paul is now well and the MUGS have decided to carry on fundraising and the Annual Golf Day, this year held at Brookdale Golf Club. has become a firm fixture on the golfing calendar.
Organiser Nadia Caserta said "We were delighted that so many teams took part and that so many people had such a good time raising money for such a good cause. Local businesses have been fantastic - we couldn't have done it without their support."
