Family, friends and business associates of a man from Lymm who died from cancer have raised almost £13,000 towards research of the disease at Manchester's The Christie through a charity golf day.
The third Peter Gee Memorial Golf Day for Christie's raised a magnificent £4,500, taking the total raised in the father of two's honour to a wonderful £12,400.
Peter's wife Sue said: "We had an amazing day again and I'm sure Peter would be extremely proud to know that such a large amount of money has been raised in his memory and we hope to be able to continue to use the event every year as a way of celebrating his life and raising money for a very important cause."
As well as the golf tournament, fundraising included an auction and raffle in the evening, which included a signed England Rugby shirt and signed Manchester United and Manchester City footballs.
The company Sue works for, Winterwarm UK ltd in Culcheth, allowed her the time to promote the golf day with the help of friends Richard Percival and Mark Tighe. They also wrote to their customers asking for donations. Local businesses also contributed with donations of meals, hair and beauty vouchers and golf days etc.
Sue would like to say a big thank you to everybody that contributed making the event a great success: "We are overwhelmed how everybody has been so supportive and generous."
The money raised from the Peter Gee Memorial Trophy, which was held at the Antrobus Golf Club near Lymm, will go towards prostate cancer research at the world-renowned The Christie.
Sue, who has two daughters who both helped out at the event, 22-year-old Hayley and Hannah, aged 13, added: "The hospital staff took very good care of Peter and did their best for him. The money we raise will go towards cancer research at The Christie and hopefully one day a cure for this terrible disease will be found."
