Calander Raises Cash For Christie's
A Manchester school has designed a 2005 calendar to support Christie's, the charity which raises funds for The Christie,
Europe's largest cancer treatment and research centre.
The cost of each
calendar is £5.00 and they are being sold
by Manchester Academy to raise funds for research into breast and
testicular cancer at The Christie.
Manchester Academy Principal, Kathy
August said: "The Academy
is at the heart of it's community and we want to support an organisation
doing such wonderful work and which is located so closely to us.
We aim to be a Healthy school and to enable young people to look
after themselves and to be aware of health issues. By working with
a charity such as Christie's we are also giving a practical example
of how we are living our Christian foundation."
