£1,000 FOR CHRISTIE'S WILL BE JUST THE TICKET

Raffle - with superb prizes to mark the 50th anniversary of Seddons
(Plant & Engineers) Ltd.
The Equipment Sales, Parts and Service company, which is part of the
Seddon group based in Bolton, celebrates it's half century on September
8 with the launch of a 5C Appeal. Five charities will each receive
£1,000 from the sale of 10,000 raffle tickets from head office, Bolton,
and their six depot stores nation-wide.
"Christie's has very strong links with the people of Bolton,
plus the whole of Greater Manchester and beyond, so we are delighted
to be the company's chosen charity for the Northwest," said the
hospital's Regional The Christie charityr Jacky Plant.
Justin Smith, Seddons Fundraising Organiser, said: "Christie's
was selected because all employees and their families know someone
who has been treated for cancer".
With 50 prizes totalling more than £3,000 to be won, the 30-plus employees
of Seddons head office, store sales and workshops at Plodder Lane,
Bolton, are positive they'll sell 2,000 tickets. They will be on sale
at 50p each from September 10th until December 31st with the draw
taking place on January 4th 2002. Prizes, donated by Seddons, Honda,
Stihl and Viking, include £50 - £500 worth of vouchers for top of
the range lawn and garden equipment such as lawn mowers, strimmers,
hedge cutters, chainsaws, rotavators all ideal for spring jobs in
the garden. There's also a £400 office chair up for grabs plus jackets,
sweat shirts, polo shirts and many more prizes.
Other charities supported by the raffle are the Donna Louise Trust,
Stoke-on-Trent; ACORN Children's Hospice, Birmingham; Leukaemia
Research Fund, Nottingham, and the Prince of Wales Hospice, Pontefract.
