FESTIVE FASHIONS BRING A £1,500 BOOST FOR CHRISTIE'S
A show of fabulous festive fashions at Wrenbury Hall,
near Nantwich, was truly in the spirit of the season. For its climax
was an early £1,500 Christmas present for The Christie specialist
cancer centre.
The event was organised by Kath Schofield, owner of Secara Exclusive
Ladies Fashions, Nantwich, who wanted to help the Manchester hospital
because a friend who died recently had been treated there for several
years.
"Christie's treatment and care extended my friend's life so I
just wanted to give something back. I thought we might raise £1,000
- I'm really thrilled that the final total was much more," said
Kath, who met the costs of the show herself. A raffle raised £524
and the models donated their services.
The 170-strong audience admired the stunning evening wear from Secara's,
complemented by a range of menswear from Pockets, Nantwich.
All the proceeds will support the Clinical Oncology (radiotherapy)
Fund at the hospital, whose Regional The Christie charityr Sarah Bate said:
"It was a magical evening. The clothes were wonderful and everyone
was very appreciative. As Christie's is the specialist cancer centre
for Greater Manchester and most of Cheshire, it was great to see that
there's so much local goodwill towards the hospital".
