Christie's £25 million appeal
After only four years, thanks to unprecedented public support,
Christie's reached the £25 million target set by its Centenary
Appeal. This amazing achievement - which came as The Christie
approached its 100th birthday - marked the culmination of the most
successful
charity appeal ever mounted outside London.
The Christie's website recorded the appeal from its outset
in 1997, paying particular attention to the work of local fundraising
teams and individuals; and building a record of the way the centenary
appeal was followed in the press.
