The Walk of Hope - Saturday 12th September 2009
Walk of Hope
A huge thank you.
A huge thank you to everyone who took part in the 2008 Christie’s Walk of Hope; the good weather helped to keep spirits high on the day and it was wonderful to once again see so many blue Christie t-shirts on the 10k walk through the magnificent setting of Tatton Park. Participants took a moment to reflect at the half way point to cast a message of hope at the pebble throw into Tatton Mere.
They were then greeted at the approach to the finish line with the candle lanterns created by each of the walkers earlier in the afternoon. Following the candle lit vigil held by Kevin Dunn, The Christie Chaplain, the true magic of the event became clear as dusk turned to night and everyone was surrounded by the lights of hope, which proved to be a perfect climax to a wonderful day.
In 2008 hundreds of supporters took part and collectively raised thousands of pounds for The Christie ensuring that once again the Walk of Hope proved to be a huge success.
The 4th annual Walk of Hope is to take place on Saturday 12th September 2009; and we hope that you will join us once again as we embark on our evening 10k stroll through the magnificent grounds of Tatton Park. On your journey you will be able to take in the spectacular scenery and wildlife of Tatton Park and half way through the walk you will have a personal opportunity to remember those loved ones that are battling the disease, those that successfully came through and also honour those who sadly lost their battle against this disease.
Registration for the 2009 event will open in early summer 2009; however, if you would like to register for the reminder service for the Walk of Hope then please complete our enquiry form in order that we can keep you up to date with news on registration.
