Night of Neon

A Huge thank you to everyone who donned their glow sticks and took part in the 2009 Night of Neon.
Our army of ‘Team Christie’ joggers and walkers all got into the spirit of the occasion and didn’t let the Autumnal weather dampen their moods as they took full advantage of the neon merchandise that was available on the day, all very kindly donated by www.glowshop.com and got ready for their warm ups.

Christie Fundraiser Diane Coleman, ably assisted by comedy duo ‘Bread & Butter’ got the warm ups under way and once completed everyone was ready and raring to go. The students of Derby University also helped to keep the atmosphere going throughout the evening as they brought along their dance group, theatre and drama recreation societies. The joggers started the evening’s events with a 5km route that took in Salford Quays and its surrounding greenbelt area. It wasn’t long after the joggers returned that it was the turn of the walkers to get ready to set off and on their 10km night walk. As the final walkers arrived back at the Lowry Plaza a little after 10pm there were smiles all round as the Night of Neon wrapped up for 2009.
Photos from this year’s event are available for purchase at www.myfrozenphoto.com. A donation will be made to The Christie for each photo purchased from the night. In addition, our photo gallery from the night can be found on the Night of Neon Facebook Fan Page!
Our huge thanks go out to Perfect Motion, Pennine Events, and Salford City Council for their help and cooperation in putting on this year’s event. In addition we would like to thank the Students of Derby University, Diane Coleman and Bread & Butter, Glowshop, Autograph, Swizzles Mattlow, A G Barr, McVities, Jointace, Arnicare, Faith In Nature, Spatone and Redbush Tea for their support.
