Manchester to Blackpool bike ride A big THANK YOU to everyone who pedalled for the Christie in the annual Manchester to Blackpool Bike Ride.
The Christie team welcomed just shy of 9000 riders over the new finish line on the South Promenade in Blackpool. Riders soaked up the atmosphere in the sun after their sixty mile bike ride having been congratulated by the many supporters, family and friends at the Solaris Centre. The cyclists were grateful for their recovery packs at the end and the Christie would like to extend huge thanks to McVitie’s, Soreen, Vimto and Swizzles Matlow for their kind donations for these. Thanks also to Autograph Portraits and County Car & Van Hire for their continued support of the event.
This year cyclists were joined by a few famous faces with Michael Le Vell – Coronation Street’s Kevin Webster, and Olympic gold medal winning cycler Paul Manning MBE all cycling for the Christie.
Last year the ride raised over £240,000, and with over 1300 ‘Team Christie’ cyclists taking part in this years event we hope to raise even more this year, so once again thank you all for your hard work and good luck with collecting your sponsorship money.
