About donating to Christie's
There are many ways in which you can make a donation to Christie's.
Remember, it doesn't have to be cash - we can use your ideas,
time, goods and services. The links on this page will show you how
to make a donation to Christie's, and how to make that contribution
as efficient and effective as possible.
You may post your donation to us at:-
Appeals Office
Christie Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

By donating online you can make
a safe and secure contribution in a tax efficient way using your
debit
or credit card. This area of the site is SECURE using
the most up-to-date internet security features, so you can be
sure your bank
and personal details are secure.
There's lots of information about the different ways in which
you can make a regular contribution, such as through payroll
giving or a monthly standing order. There's also
information about how to leave us a gift in your will.
Donors
in the United States can make a donation to Christie's via CAFAmerica.
There
are many ways in which you can make a financial contribution to the
work of the Christie Hospital. The information on this page should
help you to decide how to make the most of your gift to us.
Your gift could be worth even more if you are a tax payer and you
complete a Gift Aid declaration and send it with your cheque
We
will then claim the basic rate of tax on your donation from the
Inland Revenue
- an extra 28p for every £1 that you give.
Check what your donation would be worth to the Appeal by using our
handy Gift
Aid Calculator.
Regular
donations
Regular donations are particularly useful as the income they provide
enables the hospital to plan for future needs. A small amount that
you may not miss each month builds up to an impressive sum over a
year or so!
One
way in which you can give a regular gift is by Standing Order.
A printable form is available
Just complete the form stating how much you would like to give and
how often, and send it to the Appeals Office. We will record the details
and forward it to your bank. If you are a tax-payer and you complete
the Gift Aid section of the form we will be able
to claim the basic rate of income tax on your donations. For every
£1 you give we will then receive an extra 28p. Use our Gift
Aid Calculator to see how much your donation would be worth to
us.
If
you are employed or receive a works pension you could consider Payroll
Giving. With this scheme you choose to give a gift each month
or week direct from your pay. We not only receive your donation but
also the basic rate of tax and until at least April 2003 an extra
10% Government Subsidy.
For example if you are a basic rate tax payer and you give a pre-tax
pledge of £10.00 per month it costs you only £7.80 and with the added
10% bonus the Christie receives £11.00 (If you pay tax at the higher
rate of 40% the £10.00 per month pre-tax pledge would cost you only
£6.00).
This makes Payroll Giving the most tax-efficient means of donating
to Christie's.
Your employer should be
able to confirm if they registered with one of the Payroll Giving
Agencies who administer the scheme.
Charitable
bequests
Charitable
bequests are of enormous importance to the work of the
Christie. Take a look at our information section to see how they help us to fund vital work in the hospital. Another
good reason for leaving a gift in your will is that such bequests
also reduce your Inheritance Tax liability. You can ask your solicitor
for further guidance on this. If you would like further information
about leaving a bequest to the Christie Hospital then visit the Lasting
Legacy section or please contact the
Appeals Office. If you're not sure where we are, we've prepared some
directions to make it easier to find us.
Special birthday or anniversary
Are you celebrating a special birthday or anniversary this
year? Have you reached the point in your life where you already have
most of the things you need and are dreading receiving yet another
vase or carriage clock from well meaning friends and relatives? Why
not ask them to bring a donation to Christie's in lieu of a present
to your party! We would be delighted to receive the donations in honour
of your special day and will put them into good use in the fight against
cancer.
There is a very useful source of additional information about
all aspects of charitable giving at the All
About Giving website.
