RELEASE
Some of the committee members of the 140 strong Wai Yin Youth Project, who meet in the city's China Town area, are shown being congratulated on their "superb achievement" by the hospital's regional appeals officer Christine Blease (centre). Their contribution takes the famous cancer centre to within £500,000 of its huge £25m target for funding ground breaking research, creating innovative patient facilities and the development of more effective and 'kinder' cancer treatments. Chinese owned businesses in the North West and Northern Ireland helped sponsor the teenagers' Christie dinner at Sashi's Hotel. Guests were welcomed by project chairman Steven Lam of Cheadle Hulme and vice chairman Anne Low of Salford. Steven also provided guitar accompaniment for project member Alex Fong who entertained with traditional songs. Ends Issued by Anne Statham PR 01625 526479/521279 |
