Peter (33) decided to tackle the Triathlon - the London Marathon, a 100-mile bike ride and a one-mile swim - to raise £2,000 for The Christie's £25m centenary appeal. He explained: "I wanted to raise money for the Hospital and decided that the Triathlon would be a good way to keep fit at the same time. After completing the London Marathon I tackled the bike ride but unfortunately I hurt my back and had to take lots of painkillers - along with the odd physiotherapy session. "I found the bike ride the most gruelling as it was rather painful, but I kept focused and I was determined to finish." After taking some time out to rest, Peter - who is a partner at the
Fleetwood office of the Fylde-based Inghams Solicitors - faced his final Peter successfully raised £2,700 for the North West's famous cancer care centre, and he handed over the money to Christie's Regional Appeals Officer Christine Blease at a presentation at his home. He said: "Although it's been hard work, I know that the money will be used for a worthy cause - especially as it is The Christie's centenary year. "One of the hardest challenges was collecting the money and for this, I Christine Blease, Regional Appeals Officer at Christie's, said: "Thanks to Peter's generous contribution, The Christie's appeal now stands at £24m.
