It remains online as a historical record of the astonishing success of The Christie Hospital's Centenary Appeal which raised £25m in the four years from 1997 to 2001. RELEASE 'Netting' diners for Christie's A Didsbury restaurant is laying on special three course dinners and aims to fill up totally on the evenings of Monday to Wednesday November 13-15 - so that it can give half the takings away. For, on each of these evenings, BaltiNet on Fog Lane, which specialises in Indian cuisine, will offer dinners at £20 for two people with ten pounds going to the £25m 'Christie's' appeal. The meals are by reservation only with tickets available from Baltinet on 0161 446 2680/2658 as well as from the hospital's appeals office on Wilmslow Road, Withington, (0161 446 3988). BaltiNet is run by partners Anwar Choudhury and Mohammed Miah who want to help the centenary appeal of Manchester's famous cancer centre close in on its massive target. To date over £22m has been raised towards funding research, new patient facilities and to develop more effective and 'kinder' cancer treatments. "We want to help because Christie's is such a good cause. To make sure we can accommodate up to 150 people each evening we will operate three time periods: 5 -7 pm, 7-9pm, 9-11pm" explained Mr Miah. This is his first venture into the restaurant business although Mr Choudhury formerly owned the Barinda in Hale. Ends Issued by Anne Statham PR tel: 01625 526479/521279 |
