RELEASE Why you should sell your car for a fiver - less A specialist car auctioneer is about to ask trade sellers to fork out a fiver from the proceeds of every car sold - and expects to raise around £2,000 as a result. Manheim Auctions of Trafford Park, Manchester, will run this special trade and fleet sale on Thursday, October 26 for the £25m 'Christie's' appeal of the city's world famous hospital. They hope to have some 400 class vehicles on offer. If so it will cost them - for they are pledged to match every £5 donated by sellers. In addition their 20 staff in fancy dress will be running competitions and taking general donations for the appeal. Christie's is the largest cancer centre in Europe. It aims to mark its centenary in 2001 by funding ground-breaking research, providing major new patient facilities and developing more effective and 'kinder' cancer treatments. To date £22m has been raised. Ends For further
